Grooming Policies
Heather’s Mobile Pet Salon
Here at Heather’s Mobile Pet Salon we take pride in our work and the stress free environment we provide for your pets. We strive to ensure the comfort of all pets that enter our mobile salons. That being said, we do reserve the right to refuse service if we believe your pet is overly stressed or aggressive so as not to endanger your pet or our groomers.

CLIENT CARDS ON FILE
We require a valid credit or debit card on file for memberships or latchkey services during working hours. We are a PCI compliant company and ensure the security of your payment information that is provided to us. Your card will only be charged for services rendered, for any applicable membership fees, or for late cancelation fees.
CLIENT DELAYS DURING APPOINTMENT TIMES
For every 15 minutes your pet stylist has to wait for you to arrive to either hand off your pet(s) or to take them back after grooming, there will be a $15 charge for time. We try our best to make sure that doesn’t happen by sending out an arrival time window the afternoon before your appointment as well as updates when we are at the stop ahead of you and when we are on the way to your location.
CANCELATION FEES
Appointments canceled after 4pm the day before your appointment or on the day of your appointment will result in a cancelation fee of 50% of your full ticket being charged to your card.
UNPAID INVOICES
We have a 2 day grace period to resolve any unpaid invoices. For every additional day past completion of services, there will be a $15 penalty fee added to your invoice until it has been resolved.
MATTED DOGS
It is the responsibility of the owner to maintain your pets coat between grooming and bathing appointments. In the event your pet is matted and needs to be shaved or de-matted, the owner is releasing Heather’s Mobile Pet Salon from any liability that may arise from nicks or cuts, razor burn, raw irritated skin or any other issue directly resulting from matted hair. Any vet bills that are incurred are agreed upon to be the responsibility of the owner once this waiver is signed. The matting may result in an additional fee which is to be determined by the groomer and is based on severity. If we are unable to complete the grooming for any reason, the full cost of services is still due.
DOUBLE COATED BREEDS
Shaving a double coated breed can cause significant damage to their natural cooling system and overall coat quality. Unless it is a case of severe matting or medical necessity we advise against doing so. Shaving a double coated breeds could lead to alopecia, hair loss and in some instances heat stroke or sunburn.
SENIOR OR SPECIAL NEEDS
The safety and comfort of your pet is our number one concern. We ask that any known pre-existing issues be relayed at the time of booking your appointment. In case of any medical issues that may arise during grooming, the owner is hereby releasing Heather’s Mobile Pet Salon from any liability that may stem from your pets age or special needs. If we are unable to complete the grooming for any reason, the full cost of services is still due. Our age cut off for new client pets is 14 years old.
SPECIAL HANDLING
If your pet has any history of biting, we must be made aware at the time of booking. In the event an appointment is booked and the animal is not able to be started due to aggression or any other issue, a $70.00 charge will be applied to your card to help cover the time and gas of the groomer on call. If services have been started, but cannot be completed due to behavioral issues, you will be charged according to what was done.
UNGROOMABLE PETS
We are unable to work with pets who are aggressive, have back or neck issues, trachea issues, heart conditions greater than stage one, who are pregnant, nursing, or 8 weeks or less post partum, are in heat, are over the age of 14, have active ear infections, have any stitches or open wounds, and on a case by case basis for any other major medical issues. Other medical concerns may need a veterinary clearance letter or more information. We reserve the right to refuse services for any medical or behavioral condition or concern.
SEDATED PETS
We may work with partially sedated dogs depending on the medication given. You will need to specify which sedative is used in your booking request or to the office staff before your appointment. We will not administer any medication, this is the responsibility of the pet parent. We are not liable for any medical issue that may arise due to sedation grooming.
FLEA/TICK
We strive to keep a sanitary and flea free environment for your pet to be groomed in. In the event your pet has fleas there will be a $35.00 fee applied to your bill for flea removal and vehicle clean up so as to not spread them to other pets.
GROOMING CORRECTIONS
If, for whatever reason you are dissatisfied with your grooming services, we would love the opportunity to make it right. We do require 12 hours notice of any changes needed.
MULTIPLE PET APPOINTMENT DEPOSITS
For clients who book appointments for three or more pets at one time, we do require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of your full ticket price to hold your spot. This is applied to your appointment total.
STANDING APPOINTMENTS
We strongly recommend getting your pet on a regular set grooming schedule. Your groomer can assist you in deciding the best recurring schedule for your pet. In the event a standing appointment needs to be rescheduled or canceled, you may need to wait until your following scheduled appointment. With the number of standing appointments and clients we are unable to adjust schedules since they are booked out a year in advance. Missing three consecutive appointments will result in being removed from a recurring set schedule.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of severe weather all appointments will be rescheduled for future dates.
PHOTOS/VIDEOS
Any and all pictures and or videos taken of your pet before, during and after grooming process may be used on any sort of social media outlet or any other means we see fit for our business. I hereby grant permission for HMPS to use my pets name or picture for promotions, advertising, social media or portfolio images and release Heather’s Mobile Pet Salon from any liability.
CLIENTS IN MOBILE UNIT
Due to insurance regulations we do not permit owners to go into the mobile unit at any time.
SAFETY
We strive to ensure a safe environment for your pet. In the event of any accident, injury, allergic reaction or irritation as a result of the grooming process any veterinary or medical treatment, or other damages, will be at the pet owners expense.
LIABILITY RELEASE: I expressly assume full responsibility for all risks of any and every kind involved with my pet’s participation in mobile dog grooming services with Heather’s Mobile Pet Salon. In consideration of Heather’s allowing my dog to be groomed, I, on behalf of myself and my pet, do hereby agree to hold harmless, release, waive and forever discharge Heather’s Mobile Pet Salon, its owners, members, agents, representatives and employees (hereby known as “Heather’s”), from any and all claims, whether known and unknown, anticipated and unanticipated, which arise during or out of my pet’s participation in grooming services. I further agree that in no event shall I bring any claims, demands, or legal action against Heather’s for any economic or non-economic losses, whether in negligence, gross negligence or mental anguish, due to bodily injury, property damage, or death sustained by my pet or myself in relation to pet grooming services and/or operation of the mobile dog groomer. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Heather’s from all losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including but not limited to reasonable attorney’s fees and litigation costs) incurred by any of the released parties as a result of any claims, damages, expenses, costs, or suits brought against any of the released parties to recover any losses or damages which arise during or result from the mobile dog grooming service.
